“Thankfully, the trio was not only energetic and propulsive but also well-balanced.”

THE ARTISTS

Anne-Sophie Mutter, Violin For over three decades Anne-Sophie Mutter has been one of the most acclaimed violin virtuosos of our time. Since her Lucerne Festival debut in 1976 and 1977 Salzburg debut with Herbert von Karajan, she has performed concerts in all the major music centers of Europe, North and South America and Asia. In addition to performing major traditional works she has continually treated her audiences to new and innovative repertoire, both in chamber music and concerted works. She also uses her popularity and renown for the benefit of numerous charity projects and supports the development of young, exceptionally talented musicians through the "Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation."

Yefim Bronfman, Piano Summer festivals from Aspen to Tanglewood, Amsterdam to Helsinki, and Lucerne to Berlin provide the starting point for the 2013-14 season. Mr. Bronfman is the featured Artist-in-Residence with the New York Philharmonic, with whom he recently recorded Lindberg's 2nd piano concerto, now released on DaCapo Records. Upcoming performances include the Berlin Philharmonic's new spring residency in Baden-Baden with Zubin Mehta as well as returns to the orchestras of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Paris, Munich, and Berlin as well as an Australian tour with the Concertgebouworkester as part of that orchestra's world-wide centenary celebrations. Spring 2014 includes a North American duo tour with friend and collaborator Pinchas Zukerman.

Lynn Harrell, Cello Lynn Harrell's presence is felt throughout the musical world. A consummate soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, conductor and teacher, his work throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia has placed him in the highest echelon of today's performing artists. Mr. Harrell is a frequent guest of many leading orchestras including Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. In Europe he partners with the orchestras of London, Munich and Berlin, and he has also toured extensively to Australia and New Zealand as well as the Far East.

“The performances were everywhere alive with chemistry and communication. You have to hope for such further indulgences.”
James R. Oestreich, New York Times, April 2015
“These players are three distinct personalities, and none entirely what he or she seems. But already, this is one of the great piano trios.”
Mark Swed, Los Angeles Times, April 2015
